It’s no secret that Tom Brady wants a new challenge. After an illustrious 20-year career with the New England Patriots, Brady shared a heartfelt goodbye to his Pats fans.
Brady played 20 seasons with Bill Belichick, which is the longest run by one player for one head coach (or manager) in major sports (NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL) history.
Belichick included lots of love in his published farewell statement for Brady.
But what’s a good quarterback without his faithful tight end? Rob Gronkowski unretired in April to join his former teammate. This time, the dynamic duo is sporting Buccaneer uniforms.
Although Gronkowski has some gains to make. The Gronk gave the skinny on his weight fluctuation—in the year of his retirement, the 6’6” TE lost 25 pounds, hovering at 240. He’s a few protein shakes away from his previous 265.
“I have to do a better job,” Brady said after losing to the Saints in his first game. A week later, the Buccaneers came back with a 31-17 win against the Carolina Panthers on September 20, leaving Brady’s new team ranked 2nd in NFC South.
